El "suspense" de la apreciación musical
La música es la mas antigua de nuestras formas de expresión, mas antigua que el lenguaje y que el arte, comienza con la voz y con nuestra necesidad preponderante de darnos a los otros. De hecho, la música es el hombre, mucho más que las palabras, porque estas son símbolos abstractos que transmiten un significado factual. Según Daniel J Levitin, el americano promedio gasta más dinero en música que en sexo y drogas prescritas[1] . De hecho, la música ocupa mas áreas del cerebro humano que el lenguaje – los humanos somos una especie musical. Por este mismo hecho, deberíamos mantener la apreciación musical como parte intrínseca de nuestro ser. El ser humano esta hecho para apreciar la música.
La valoración musical es parte de la hominización que menciona Teilhard de Chardin, ya sea al escuchar o hacer música, es decir, es parte del proceso mediante el cual el hombre se hace más verdadero y plenamente humano. La música cumple con el público al ser ornamental (“Musique d’ameublement”, hubiese dicho Erik Satie) y acompañarlo a uno en todo momento, además de reforzar los procesos de legitimación e identificación personal, y darnos el llamado “suspense”[2] que nos da la experiencia de ver musica en vivo, en el momento supuesto de apreciarla.
La ornamentación musical no esta sujeta a su valoración, ya que la música en este aspecto cumple un factor ambiental, ya que se reduce la experiencia musical al servicio de una actividad o a una experiencia propia. El acto de escuchar musica es mucho mas complejo, requiere atención unisensorial y concentración sobre la misma, eso sin mencionar que no todos podemos hacerlo. Oliver Sacks, en su libro “Musicophilia” explora casos diversos de trastornos que se asocias justamente con la música, desde un hombre que es golpeado por un rayo y de repente es inspirado a ser un pianista a la edad de cuarenta y dos años, a un grupo entero de niños con el síndrome de Williams, que son hipermusicales de nacimiento; desde gente con amusia, a quienes una sinfonía les suena como el golpear latas y cucharones, a un hombre cuya memoria dura siete minutos para todo, excepto la música[3]. Teniendo todas nuestras facultades intactas, no podemos dejar de lado la experiencia de escuchar música y apoderarnos de ella.
Cuando uno va a un concierto “under” de metal, uno sabe que no estará frente a una presentación de musica de cámara. El cerebro procesa la información y la guarda, predice opiniones sobre lo que sucederá después, y cualquier sorpresa a esto nos hará distinguir y apreciar una musica de otra. El culto de la emoción como móvil creador y factor de comunicación nace con el romanticismo, y por ello ahora se considera la emoción del compositor una emoción hallada en las peripecias de su existencia, con un valor en si. A la vez, nuestra carencia de apreciación nos hace creer que estas emociones se transmiten fácilmente ante la vulnerabilidad de las personas y que uno puede llegar hasta a suicidarse por la musica que escucha. El suspense al que nos remite Alejo Carpentier esta en la emoción de ver a Pete Townshend al lanzar una guitarra y lanzarla contra el piso, al tener expectativa de que algo suceda al escuchar la misma canción por enésima vez, no al pensamiento de que siente o piensa el músico o que transmite al publico para que este tome acciones relevantes en su vida.
Apreciar la musica es entonces tomar cuenta de su existencia, sorprendernos por el mismo hecho de que existe y dejar de lado el academicismo emocional y los diccionarios de ideas recibidas. Para escuchar musica se debe entrenar el oído, disfrutar de las diversas melodías en su integridad musical y valorar como oyentes, no como aquel que exige emociones y demanda verlas satisfechas. Apreciar la musica es parte de desnudarse ante su magnificencia, de disfrutar en estadios hipnóticos como los que señalara Proust durante las observaciones que realiza durante

¿Cuánto cuesta ver "rock nacional"?
Entre idas y venidas, existen todo tipo de eventos dentro de la música llamada "rock nacional" a las que asistimos, música que no llega a ser una industria per sé en nuestro medio. Una vez asistí a un tributo de Queen que costó 200 Bs. en el hotel Radisson, y de la misma manera pude ingresar por 5 bs. a la "Rockerón" para ver aproximadamente diez bandas; en ambos casos del llamado "rock nacional". Este fin de semana, me topé con un par de acontecimientos: el RDLA y el Illimani Metal. El Rock de Los Andes costó entre 40 y 5 bolivianos al público en general ya que los que compraron pre venta a 25 fueron precavidos, pero no "vivos" ya que los revendedores te daban una entrada de 40 en 5 bs. una vez empezado el concierto. En este evento, uno tenía la posibilidad de disfrutar un "pique macho" de lo que es la música rock que se hace en Bolivia: desde Deszaire hasta Wara, desde Bus 31 hasta Saises... realmente sin una línea musical específica entre ellas, pero se puede decir que de bandas que tienen en común trayectoria. Por otro lado, teníamos el Illimini Metal Festival con la participación de las bandas: Ad Libitum Project, Chullpa, Elemental Sickness, Facto Alfa, Hate, Lilith, Metástasys y finalmente Subterfugio y Supplicium de Santa Cruz. Estas bandas de metal fueron las ganadoras después de exhaustivo trabajo por parte de los jurados y la organización, las cuales se presentaron en el cine 6 de Agosto el vienes 7, sábado 8 y domingo 9. Uno podía pagar 60 bs. para asistir a las tres fechas, o 25 por día el cual fue el caso más común, ya que mucha gente fue a ver una banda en específico. Esto hizo que el remodelado cine con capacidad para 400 personas al tener en su interior a 100 quede “vacío” a pesar de que Hate que tiene récord de asistencia en el Equinoccio por la presentación del disco Odio Vivo con 500 personas. La idea inicial, era que con el dinero recaudado se elaborara el DVD y el disco de las bandas participantes en vivo. En el caso de la presentación del nuevo disco de Puma Punk en el Café Café, teníamos entrada libre, en el Equinoccio Track cobró desde las 11:00 de la noche el cover estándar del local, en

Si la música es tu pasión, tienes una banda y sueñas con grabar un disco, esta es la oportunidad que estabas esperando.
Beldent premia tu técnica, feeling y ritmo con $us 1000 en el concurso “Dile sí al talento boliviano”.
Lo único que tienes que hacer para participar, es grabar un video con una canción con letra original, basándose en uno de los siguientes conceptos:
- Beldent es cero azúcar y full diversión.
- Disfruta de la vida con Beldent.
- Con Beldent es buena onda decir que sí.

- La duración de los videos debe ser de un minuto y deben estar grabados en formato DVD.
- El material debe entregarse en las instalaciones de Televisión Boliviana (TVB), Av. Camacho No. 1485, Edificio “La Urbana” Piso 6. En caso de participar desde el interior del país, los videos deben enviarse por correo directo a la dirección mencionada anteriormente.
- El material se recibirá a partir del 15 de agosto hasta el 12 de septiembre del presente año.

- La letra y la música debe ser original.
- La canción debe hablar netamente de la marca.
- La canción debe ser melódica.
- La letra no debe ser ofensiva ni contener lenguaje explícito.
- Cada grupo o solista inscrito debe elaborar la canción y el video, con sus propios instrumentos y equipos.
- El canal no proporcionará ninguna ayuda técnica ni profesional a los participantes.
- Los derechos de la canción ganadora pasan a ser propiedad del cliente, Cadbury Adams.

COMIENZA LA OPERACIÓN “ROCK DE LOS ANDES – INTEGRACIÓN 2008”
El festival que reúne a las mejores bandas bolivianas del momento, comienza sus operativos para retornar este 2008 con mas fuerza y con el objetivo firme de INTEGRAR a Bolivia mediante la música. En esta versión nuevamente se estará reuniendo a las bandas más representativas de todo el país, es así que se tendrá la participación de por lo menos 5 departamentos; estas bandas tendrán la responsabilidad de enviar un mensaje de INTEGRACIÓN a todos los bolivianos.
Para que el público y los medios se mantenga informados sobre el Mega-Festival ROCK DE LOS ANDES – INTEGRACIÓN 2008, es que ya se tiene actualizada su web: www.rockdelosandes.com en la que constantemente se esta publicando noticias relacionadas al festival y a las bandas que participaron del mismo en alguna de sus versiones 2004 y 2008.
En los próximos días SPECTRUM CORP. productora del evento, estará comunicando oficialmente el lugar y día donde se llevará a cabo el mega-festival, así como también las bandas que confirmaran su participación.

Bohemian Rhapsody, Queen (1975)
§ La canción “Bohemian Rhapsody” es considerada el “mágnum opus” de la banda Queen, dando pie a lo que se consideraría en adelante como una de las bandas más populares a nivel mundial.
§ En ese entonces, los conocidos “videos promocionales” no tenían el concepto visual que acompañaba a la música. Esto convierte a Bohemian Rhapsody en el primer “videoclip”, o video musical, como se consideran hasta hoy en día.
§ Al querer sacar el single en 1975, la productora se negó ya que consideraban que 5 minutos con 55 segundos era una canción muy larga, y pensaron que nunca sería un hit.
§ Freddy Mercury, le dio la copia a su amigo DJ, Kenny Everett, pidiéndole que no la ponga al aire, que era un regalo personal. Everett la ponía 14 veces al día en su estación de radio.
§ Bismillah, es una forma islámica de decir: “En el nombre de Dios”.
§ Esta canción es una rareza en términos de estructura. Tiene seis partes: introducción, balada, solo de guitarra, opera, rock y outro.
§ Freddy Mercury, nunca esclareció el significado de la letra de la canción, lo cual llevó a múltiples especulaciones.
§ Un “scaramouche” es un tipo de bardo payaso, que usa una máscara negra, pantalones y sombrero del mismo color con una camisa blanca.
§ Se considera a Bohemian Rhapsody “El Mejor Video de Todos los Tiempos”, según una encuesta O2 en el Reino Unido.
§ Se proclama gracias a esta canción y su videoclip, el inicio de la “Era MTV”.
§ Para el 40 aniversario de la radio BBC Radio 1’s, el 30 de Septiembre del 2007, se reveló que Bohemian Rhapsody fue la canción más tocada desde la fundación de la radio.
§ De acuerdo al Guiness Records 2005, los álbumes de Queen estuvieron durante 1322 semanas, o 27 años en listas, superando a Los Beatles y a Elvis Presley.

BABA O'RILEY - THE WHO
Actualmente es usada como la canción inicial de CSI: New York.
Baba O' Riley tiene este nombre por el gurú del guitarrista Pete Townshend, llamado Maher Baba.
Aparece en número 340 como una de las mejores canciones de todos los tiempos en la revista Rolling Stone.
Está en el Rock and Roll Hall of Fame por ser una de las canciones que le dio forma al rock n' roll.
Pete Townshend puso las medidas físicas como peso, altura, etc. de su gurú Meher Baba en su sintetizador para crear el fondo de la canción.
La experimentación que hizo Townshend estuvo inspirada en el minimalismo electrónico de Terry Riley.
Dave Arbus, de East of Eden interpreta el violín gracias a una idea de Keith Moon. En vivo, Roger Daltrey lo sustituye con una armónica.
La revista "Q Magazine" nombró a Baba O' Riley como una de las 50 canciones que hay que escuchar antes de morir.
Roger Daltrey anunció que en junio del presente año tocarán an Japón, Estados Unidos y Australia. "No queremos parar" fue su argumento.
Zak Starkey, hijo de Ringo Starr con Barbara Bach, aprendió lecciones de batería junto a Keith Moon. Actualmente sale de gira con The Who.
Meher Baba también fue gurú de Boris Karloff, Tallulah Bankhead y Charles Laughton.
"A Rainbow in Curved Air" fue la canción de Terry Riley que inspiró tanto la canción como el nombre de Baba O' Riley.

Keith Richards aseguró en una entrevista que no se suponía que el título de la canción tenga una coma, y que ésta fue agregada por la compañía disquera.
La canción es asociada con la Guerra de Vietnam por el uso que se le dio en las películas Full Metal Jacket y Tour of Duty.
Pain it, black también fue utilizada en juegos de consola como Conflict: Vietnam y Twisted Metal: Black.
Una versión de karaoke fue hecha para el juego SingStar, y se puede escuchar en los juegos Eve of Destruction, conversión total de Battlefield 1948 y Battlefield 2.
Esta canción fue interpretada por más de 100 bandas y solistas, entre ellos Deep Purple, Duran Duran, Einherjer, Helloween, Led Zeppeling, Rammstein, R.E.M., Rush, Televisión, Tipe O Negative, U2 e incluso Azúcar Moreno.
Bnadas como My Chemical Romance y Good Charlotte hacen referencia a la canción en los temas All Black y Welcome to the Black Parade, respectivamente.
La presentación se llevó a cabo en el Ed Sullivan Show, programa de variedades en el cual se presentaron The Beatles, Elvis Presley, The Doors y muchos otros grandes.
El programa creó mucha controversia al no dejar tocar a Bob Dylan y tener incidentes con Jackie Mason, Bo Diddley, entre otros. Los Rolling Stones tuvieron que cambiar el título del single “Let’s spend a night togheter” por “Let’s spend some time togheter” para no tener problemas.
El instrumento indú sitar, se hizo conocer en los 50’s con Ravi Shankar, y fue popularizado por George Harrison de los Beatles. Su reaparición fue con un estilo musical distinto en la canción Paint it, black cuyo solo lo hizo Brian Jones que aprendió del mismo Harrison.
En las series The Dark Tower de Stephen King, la canción es escuchada por muchos de los personajes mientras pasan por la misma tienda de música en Nueva York, en diferentes momentos.
El segundo capítulo de The League of Extraordinary gentleman, Volume III: Century, está ambientado en 1966 y se llama “Paint it Black”.
Whisky in the Jar, Thin Lizzy
Thin Lizzy es una banda irlandesa que se formó en Dublín en 1969, liderada por el cantante, compositor y bajista Phil Lynott.
Phil Lynott era hijo de un marinero afro brasileño que lo dejó a sus tres meses de edad.
El nombre de Thin Lizzy fue idea de Eric Bell (guitarra), que vio un comic con un personaje llamado Tin Lizzie.
El primer gran éxito de la banda llego en 1972 con la edición del sencillo Wiskey in the Jar.
Wiskey in the Jar es una version de una canción popular irlandesa que relata las desventuras de un militar prepotente en manos de una mujer.
El arreglo de la canción Folk es de Lynott, a la que le quitó dos versos y agregó un giro en la temática de la canción.
El cover de 1998 de esta canción que hizo Metallica en su disco Garage Inc. Respeta la estructura de Lynott, pero le agrega un ritmo menos cadencioso.
Metallica originalmente planeaba hacer la rendición de "The Boys are Back in Town" de Thin lizzy, pero desistió por que esta canción se habia convertido en parte del set de canciones en vivo de Bon Jovi.
A mediados de los setenta un gran guitarrita se integró a Thin Lizzy, Gary Moore, con el que Thin Lizzy llegaría a su punto mas alto de popularidad.
La letra cuenta la historia de un bandolero que asalta al capitán Farrel para llevar el dinero del botín a su novia Molly, pero ella le traiciona, ocultando en su casa al mismo capitán al que el bandolero había asaltado. Cuando éste se ve sorprendido, dispara al capitán pero es detenido y encarcelado.
La versión de Metallica de 1998, ganó un Grammy el 2000 como Mejor Interpretación de Hard Rock.
La primera vez que fueron a América fue el 1977 como teloneros de la banda britanica Queen.
Phil Lynnot murió el 4 de enero de 1986 por complicaciones de higado y riñones, debidas a sus años de exceso de consumo de alcohol y drogas.
El 2005 se descubrio una estatua de bronce de Lynnot en Dublín.
Entro otros covers de esta canción, se encuentran las versiones de U2, Pulp, Smokie, Belle & Sebastian y Gary Moore.
Mind Games - John Lennon
HOY EN MEMORIAS DEL ROCK:
"Mind Games" es el tema que da título al álbum del mismo nombre publicado como single en 1973.
La canción fue inspirada por el libro epónimo de Robert Masters y Jean Houston de 1972, que enfatiza el poder de la mente humana para inducir varios estados de conciencia sin la ayuda de sustancias externas.
La canción data de la época vétale, se la puede oír en una versión rustica durante la grabación del álbum Let It Be de 1969.
La grabación previa a "Mind Games" titulaba "Make Love, Not War", incluso conserva un estribillo con esa frase al final de la canción.
Una versión original de “Make Love, Not War” puede ser oída en el box set de 1998 John Lennon Anthology.
En 2001, Kevin Spacey cantó el tema como parte del concierto tributo Come Together: A Night for John Lennon's Words and Music.
El Video, muestra a John ingresando a Tiffany’s, una de las tiendas mas caras del mundo, para conseguir un simple Hot Dog.
El video fue editado a partir de imágenes tomadas por un estudiante como trabajo final de universidad, que después fueron compradas por Yoko Ono.
En 2006, "Mind Games" fue versioneada por el grupo de pop/rock alemán MIA., así como por la banda australiana Eskimo Joe, como parte del proyecto Make Some Noise para apoyar la campaña de Amnistía Internacional.
En 2007, una versión del tema interpretada por Gavin Rossdale sería publicada como tema adicional del álbum Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur en la tienda de iTunes.

Haré mi review al terminar de verla, por el momento me encanta! Es simple, de colegialos mimados platudos, onda Ouran Host Club pero con sabor a inicios de los 90's (weh, me siento vieja ^^). Un shojo que vale la pena ver, estoy viendo simultaneamente el dorama, que también está buenísimo! Lo que sí, esque no me puedo sacar la cancioncita de la cabeza... stepping out... ^^
La Apofenia en el Dark Side of The Rainbow
Definitivamente es una muy buena coincidencia! La sincronización es impresionante, pero obviamente no fue intencional. Al fin me di el tiempo para verlo, gracias a Youtube, que lo tiene completo ^^
Me explico. Hace tiempo, unos amigos drogones me hablaron de este fenómeno que se convirtió en una especie de mito urbano al rededor de la película "El Mago de Oz" de Victor Fleming hecha en 1939 y su "mística" relación con el "Dark Side Of The Moon", disco sacado a la venta el año 1973 por parte de la banda Pink Floyd. Supuestamente, en el tercer rugido del león de la MGM, se pone "play" al disco y parece una adecuación exacta.
Debo decir, que siempre me llamó la atención, pero supuse que era una cosa que era para personas con mucha paja (o marihuana) en el cerebro, hasta que le dí una chequeadita. Sip... me quedé viendo todo el film, y es impresionante. La verdad es que es una apofenia, es decir, una experiencia de ver conexiones en cosas que no tienen ninguna relación la una con la otra, una visión sin motivos de conexiones, experiencias concretas de dar sentido anormalmente a lo que no lo tiene, una coincidencia "astral", un blef!
Pero vale la pena darle una probadita, es divertido!

Y... de qué trata Nana? Bueno, son dos muchachitas de 20 años, que además de compartir el mismo nombre, edad y departamento, terminan envueltas en muchos infortunios. Ya que es una chica tan inocente y buenita (como casi todas las protagonistas shojo), su compañera de cuarto le pone el apodo de "Hachi", por el nombre de cachorrito "Hachiko" (debo admitir que le puse ese nombre a mi tortuga). Además, hachiハチ公, es el número ocho, mientras "nana" es el siete. Nana Osaki, argumenta que Hachi es pequeña, ruidosa y requiere de mucho cuidado, al igual que un perro pequeño (o habrá querido decir "perra"?) Bueno Hachi, comprendo que eres enamoradiza e impulsiva, no te culpo por eso, pero cualquiera usa preservativo, aunque tenga la oportunidad de pasar una noche con el guapo de moda de una banda de rock! (y yo, si lo sé, y qué?).
Nana Osaki es una chicoca que tocaba en una banda, que por circunstancias de la vida se separó, entonces se vá a Tokio con la idea de conformar su propia banda y ser más grande que todas juntas. Aparenta ser una punketa malvada, pero su corazón es de gelatina cuando se trata de ser amiga, ya que ella nunca tuvo la oportunidad de intimar tanto con una nena, como lo hace con Hachi. Es criada por su abuela, abandonada por sus padres, por su banda, por su chico, y en cierto momento hasta por su "perro".
